3 Years Later, Prime Video’s Emmy-Nominated Streaming Hit Is Ready for Its Season 2 Return

Taylor Jenkins Reid’s Daisy Jones & the Six was a book that was tailor-made for adaptation. A fictionalized version of Fleetwood Mac’s heyday, the story was told as an oral history of the titular band. Television was much more capable of presenting the central story and did so in Prime Video’s adaptation of the material. Instead of an oral history, the series follows the band’s recollection through a music documentary.

This narrative device works perfectly for the television series and ultimately left the fans wanting more. Daisy Jones & the Six immerses fans by delivering an album that readers couldn't get in book form. The story follows Daisy (Riley Keough) joining the band The Six, encouraging a volatile dynamic between her and frontman Billy (Sam Claflin). This relationship is meant to mirror the famously passionate and chaotic relationship between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, detailed in Fleetwood Mac's famous break-up album. Daisy Jones & the Six respectfully distances itself from taking too much from the real-life band, but still inspired appreciation from the Fleetwood Mac singer. Though initially hesitant about watching the series, Nicks has some logical ideas about a potential Season 2.

Stevie Nicks Has Plans For ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ Season 2

Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & the Six is largely an open-and-shut story, following the trajectory of a band that burned hot and fast. The fictional band was at the height of their success when they broke up for good due to addiction, heartache, and diverging paths. The Emmy-nominated series was masterful in telling the story along with composing the accompanying album that the musicians make in the show. Still, many have wondered if there is room for more story. The most unlikely savior came to the rescue of the show – at least for now.

Steve Nicks herself went to producer Reese Witherspoon and Riley Keough with the concept for a Season 2. Though for many, the show is already perfect from start to finish, Nicks has a personal stake in the matter. Though she is admittedly much different from the persona of Daisy Jones in the series, she became invested in the continuation of the story.

The songstress came up with the natural continuation of the story, which would take place after Billy knocks on Daisy’s door in the final scene. Nicks told Rolling Stone that she envisioned the sophomore season to be about the record that the two would make together after resolving their respective issues.

“I wish that it could go into what if … had Billy come back after Billy’s wife died and knocked on her door, and they decided to make that last record that I always hoped that Lindsey and I would make," Nicks reported. "That would make a fantastic second season.”

This is the natural course of action considering Taylor Jenkins Reid came up with the idea for Daisy Jones after viewing the now infamous 1997 performance of “Silver Springs,” which showed the chemistry between Nicks and Buckingham decades after "Rumours." As far as confirmation goes, Daisy Jones & the Six Season 2 still seems quite far away. The “Edge of Seventeen” singer admitted that everyone is extremely busy, and it would take a lot to bring this creative project together. For now, fans will have to work with the imagination they have, with the near-perfect ending that may inspire many a fan-fiction.
