Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand’s semifinal defeat on Saturday marked the end of Indian participation at the ongoing BWF World Championships 2026 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi.

The women’s doubles pair has secured a bronze medal by virtue of making the semifinals, meaning that they are the only Indian participants who will take home a medal at the competition. 

In the singles sections of the competition, PV Sindhu and Ayush Shetty were India’s best performers, reaching the Round of 16 before suffering defeat.
