76 nabbed in Ilocos anti-illegal gambling drive

SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — Police arrested 76 people in 20 operations against illegal gambling across the Ilocos Region from Sept. 1 to 6, the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) said.
The operations resulted in the confiscation of P33,457 in alleged bet money, according to PRO 1.
Police said the operations targeted various forms of illegal gambling, including illegal number games, jueteng, dice games, coin games and sports betting.

Brig. Gen. Crisaleo Tolentino, PRO 1 regional director, said the campaign against illegal gambling would remain intensified, urging police personnel and the public to remain vigilant against such activities.
“Our fight against illegal gambling does not end with these arrests. We will sustain our operations and strengthen our presence in communities to prevent these unlawful activities from spreading,” Tolentino said.
