Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s Hair Transplant: Inter Star Takes Teammate Jokes in Stride

Hakan Çalhanoğlu is used to questions about free kicks, penalties, and his role in Inter’s midfield. Recently, however, the conversation in the Nerazzurri dressing room has taken a more personal turn. The Turkish international has undergone a hair transplant. 

The 32-year-old confirmed he had the procedure at Cosmedica Clinic, where Dr Acar treated him. Rather than hiding the decision, Çalhanoğlu has taken the jokes from both teammates and opponents in good humour, including one from Luka Modrić. 

“Yes, I got a hair transplant,” Çalhanoğlu told Italian media. “My teammates, and even Modrić the other day in the derby, tease me about it. But I’m fine with it. I feel great.” 

It is a typically relaxed response from a player who has become increasingly comfortable in the spotlight. On the pitch, Çalhanoğlu remains one of Inter’s most recognisable figures, known for his powerful right foot, penalty expertise and ability to influence matches from midfield. 

Inside the Treatment at Cosmedica Clinic 

Away from the field, themidfielder’ss appearance has also attracted attention. According to details released by Cosmedica, the treatment focused mainly on the hairline, with additional work carried out on a small section of the crown. 

The clinic said the procedure involved approximately 4,500 available grafts and used the DHI Micro Sapphire technique. The treatment combines individual follicle extraction with implantation designed to control the direction, depth and angle of each graft. 

The aim was to create a fuller hairline while maintaining a natural appearance. This was particularly relevant for Çalhanoğlu, whose face is regularly seen on television, in interviews and across social media. 

The operation took place on July 5, 2026. 

Recovery, Results and the Footballer’s Confidence 

As with any hair transplant, the immediate result is not the final one. The first few weeks focus on healing, and temporary shedding may occur during the early months. 

New growth is generally expected to become visible between the fourth and sixth months. The final result can take up to a year to develop fully. 

For Çalhanoğlu, the procedure appears to have been about feeling more comfortable with his appearance rather than making a dramatic statement. His teammates may keep teasing him, but the midfielder seems happy to play along. 

After all, a player who has spent years handling pressure from the penalty spot is unlikely to be troubled by a few jokes in the dressing room. With Inter and Turkey, Çalhanoğlu’s attention remains on football, but his new look has certainly given his teammates something else to discuss.
