KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 — A two-storey terrace house in Alam Damai, Cheras, here, was destroyed in a fire early yesterday morning believed to have been caused by an electric vehicle (EV) that was being charged in the foyer of the house.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) operations division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar in a statement today said his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 5.03 am before a team of personnel from the Cheras, Sungai Besi and Bandar Tun Razak Fire and Rescue Stations (BBP) were rushed to the location.

Ahmad Mukhlis said upon arriving at the location of the incident, his department found that the two-storey terrace house was 100 per cent burnt down.

He said no victims were injured in the incident and the extinguishing operation was completed at 6.41 am. — Bernama
