Breaking: Small aircraft crash reported in remote Northern Territory waters
Police have been called to the scene of a plane crash in waters off Groote Eylandt.
In a statement to the ABC this afternoon, NT Police confirmed it received "reports of a small aircraft crash in waters near Angurugu".
"Police received the report shortly after 11:40am and members are currently responding to the incident," the statement said.
Authorities "are working to confirm the circumstances of the crash and the number of people involved", with investigations ongoing.
