Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski part ways after 9 years

Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski have confirmed that they are separating after nine years of marriage.The actors shared the news in a joint statement to PEOPLE, revealing that she and her partner decided to pull the plug on their marriage, after being separated “for a while.”

“We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever—and it’s GOOD,” the couple said in their statement.

Seyfried and Sadoski first met in 2015 while starring together in the off-Broadway play 'The Way We Get By'. The two reunited later that year on the set of 'The Last Word', where they played love interests. Their on-screen chemistry soon translated into a real-life relationship, with PEOPLE confirming in March 2016 that they were dating.

The couple reportedly got engaged later that same year, and eloped in March 2017. She famously told the portal, "We eloped. We just took off into the country with an officiant and, just the two of us, and we did our thing." She went on to add, "It was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other."

Days after their wedding, Seyfried and Sadoski welcomed their first child together - daughter Nina.

A couple of years later, the actors were blessed with their second child, a baby boy, who they named Thomas Jr. He was born in September 2020.

As recently as Tuesday, September 15, Seyfried has been sharing photos and updates about her married life. She took to her social media handle on Tuesday to share a photo of Thomas sitting at a table with a pet lizard on his shoulder.Early this year, she also gushed about Sadoski's support for her career. In an interview with Vogue, she said, her husband “sacrifices a lot for me” as she took on a busy slate of projects, including 'The Testament of Ann Lee', 'The Housemaid' and the series 'Long Bright River'.
