Haredi protesters block Highway 4 near Ra'anana, Kfar Saba over draft dodger arrest
Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) protesters blocked Highway 4 near Ra'anana on Wednesday afternoon, Israel Police confirmed.
Police deemed the demonstration illegal and are on the scene directing traffic to alternative routes and attempting to clear the highway.
According to the police, the demonstrators gathered after hearing that a draft dodger was being held in custody inside the Ra'anana police station. The police say that he is, in fact, being held in Military Police custody at another location.
