Several Benguet roads remain closed due to landslides
BAGUIO CITY — Several roads in Benguet remained closed on Sunday, Aug. 30, due to landslides and strong water currents triggered by heavy rainfall, according to authorities.
The Halsema-Madaymen-Ampusungan Provincial Road was declared impassable after a landslide deposited debris at the entrance to the Pakpakitan-Taliboy-oc-Lamut Road.

The Tabbak section of the Gov. Bado Dangwa National Road was also closed to traffic due to an ongoing rockslide.

Meanwhile, motorists using the Tokok-Ambalideng-Poblacion section of the Gov. Bado Dangwa National Road were advised to proceed with extreme caution as strong water currents continued to affect the area.
Authorities said clearing operations would resume once weather conditions improve and it is safe for response teams to enter the affected areas. /mcm
