Silent Witness star's detective drama that 'offers something a little different' is on TV tonight

Emilia Fox's detective drama Signora Volpe is returning to our screens tonight with its hugely anticipated third season. The latest instalment will unfold across three 90-minute episodes, streaming on Acorn TV.
The show, which first debuted in 2022, centres around Sylvia Fox, a former British spy who decides to retire in Panicale. However, soon after moving to the quaint Italian town, she begins solving a number of local crimes.
Season three will pick up from the events of season two, which saw Sylvia abducted while trying to solve a murder. As she tries to move past her traumatic ordeal, she finds herself facing even more dangerous investigations, which start to hit closer to home.

Fox is reprising her leading role opposite Giovanni Cirfiera as Capitano Riva, Tara Fitzgerald as Isabel Vitale and Matteo Carlomagno as Matteo Vitale. Meanwhile, EastEnders' star Jamie Bamber will be joining the cast as Sylvia's ex-husband Adam.
Adam's appearance forces Sylvia to confront some uncomfortable truths, as she tries to leave her past behind her. Will she be able to put her personal life aside to solve the latest crimes?
Created by Rachel Cuperman and Sally Griffiths, Signora Volpe currently holds a 7.2/10 user rating from 4,800 logs on IMDb. Viewers praised the "strong feminine lead", "beautiful" setting and "original plots", calling for more episodes.
"If a slow paced laid back detective mystery isn't your thing then stay away but otherwise enjoy. Beautiful scenery with good acting and interesting stories. Emilia Fox is always a joy to watch with a good supporting cast," wrote one.

"No blood & guts. No sad, dark heroes or heroines. Just good characters, multiple mysteries, comic relief and hints of romance! And, a strong feminine lead, family and Italy! I'm hoping for lots more episodes and seasons. Pleeeeeeze??" said another.
A third added: "Signora Volpe is refreshing. Having watched many mysteries and dramas, this show offers something new and a little different. It has the perfect balance of beautiful Italy, excellent writing with interesting and original plots, likeable characters, and a strong female lead (Emelia Fox is made for this role). And a sprinkle of romance. I can't wait for the next season!"
Signora Volpe season 3 premieres on Acorn TV tonight (5 October), before coming to U&Drama in 2027.
