Kim Chiu, who is in the middle of a legal battle with her sister Lakam Chiu, has embraced her “girl boss energy” and remained optimistic amid an “unexpected plot twist” in her business.

While she has yet to publicly speak about her falling-out with her older sister, the actress-TV host seemed to have alluded to the matter through her Instagram post shared on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Kim filed a qualified theft complaint against Lakam, citing the “serious financial discrepancies” she discovered within their bag business operations.

Earlier this month, the Quezon City Office of the City Prosecutor formally charged Lakam with 124 counts of qualified theft over alleged withdrawals and transfers involving about ₱44.4 million in company funds.

In her statement, Kim said she confronted her sister in June 2025 after discovering unusually large transactions from their joint business bank accounts. The actress said Lakam had apologized to her, admitting that she had supposedly used the money for “gambling” and to pay “personal debts.”

Lakam denied this and claimed that she had invested the money in a casino-related business venture but that the venture failed.

Lakam has yet to publicly speak on the matter as of this writing. /edv
