Nigerian record producer and singer, Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has praised Afrobeats star Ayra Starr, saying the singer has changed his life.

The Mavin Records boss made the remark on X on Thursday while responding to a fan who applauded his role in Ayra Starr’s career.

Don Jazzy said Ayra Starr had also had a significant impact on his own life, recalling how he discovered her through an Instagram freestyle.

“She has most definitely changed my own life too. I bless the day I was shown her Instagram freestyle o. And she has been nothing but a dream Starrgirl,” he wrote.

Don Jazzy discovered Ayra Starr through her viral freestyles on social media before signing her to Mavin Records.

Since then, the singer has established herself as one of the leading voices in Afrobeats, earning international recognition with songs and collaborations that have expanded her global audience.

Ayra Starr released her third studio album, Starrgirl, on August 14.

The 16-track album features collaborations with Nigerian stars Wizkid and Rema, as well as international artistes including ZAYN, Leon Thomas, kwn, Theodora and Danny Ocean.

Wizkid features on “Gimme Dat”, while Rema appears on “Who’s Dat Girl”.

Don Jazzy’s latest comments underline the mutual impact between the music executive and the artiste whose career he helped launch at Mavin Records.
