Company ‘fun day’ turns bloody as brother slain in drinking spree
VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon, Philippines — A company “fun day” turned bloody after a 46-year-old man allegedly stabbed to death his 36-year-old brother in Dangcagan, Bukidnon, on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 22, police said.
Capt. Larry Malhin, officer in charge of the Dangcagan Municipal Police Station (MPS), said the incident occurred at around 5 p.m. inside the Dole Dangcagan Palletizing Compound—a work facility and storage area operated by the multinational agricultural company Dole Philippines, Inc.
Investigators said the compound had hosted a “fun day” activity for its employees, which included a drinking session involving the victim and the suspect.

A heated argument broke out between the brothers, leading to a commotion.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly pulled a knife from his sling bag and stabbed the victim once in the upper left portion of his body.
Responding to a call from a concerned citizen, the Dangcagan MPS Quick Response Team (QRT) rushed to the scene.

Before the police arrived, the suspect had already been apprehended by the compound’s security team.
The victim was rushed by the Dangcagan Rescue Team to the Bukidnon Provincial Hospital in Kibawe for medical treatment, but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The suspect, along with the knife allegedly used in the attack, was turned over to responding police personnel.
He is in the custody of the Dangcagan MPS.
