Several ferry trips in Mimaropa and parts of the Bicol and Central Visayas regions were canceled on Tuesday, Aug.18, 2026, due to poor weather conditions brought by the southwest monsoon, according to the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro –  Several ferry trips in Mimaropa and parts of the Bicol and Central Visayas regions were canceled on Tuesday due to poor weather conditions brought by the southwest monsoon, according to the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).

As of 8 a.m., the cancellations affected routes serving Batangas, Mindoro, Masbate, Palawan, Bohol, and other destinations.

The PPA said the Port of Batangas recorded cancellations involving fastcraft and roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) services.

Among the affected trips were Galerian fastcraft services to Puerto Galera scheduled at 6:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.; Island Water fastcraft services, which had no scheduled trip; Montenegro fastcraft services to Puerto Galera scheduled at 10:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.; and a Starlite RoRo trip to Romblon, Sibuyan, Culasi and Roxas City scheduled at 3 p.m.

In Mindoro, all trips at the Port of Lubang were canceled.

At the Port of Puerto Galera, the MV City of Bacolod trips to Batangas scheduled at 7:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. were canceled. A Montenegro Shipping Lines trip from Abra de Ilog to Batangas scheduled at 11:30 a.m. was also canceled.

The MV Bunso Ferry 2 service from San Jose to Coron was likewise listed among the canceled trips.

In Palawan, canceled services included MV Bunso Ferry 2, MV City of Iloilo, and Expedition Tours at the Port of Coron. At the Port of Culion, Escapade Tours and all trips involving vessels with a gross tonnage of 15 and below were also canceled.

The PPA also reported canceled trips in Masbate, including MB Maribel’s Claveria-Pioduran, Albay route and a Montenegro fastcraft service from Masbate to Pilar, Sorsogon.

In Bohol, the affected services included Sunriser II from Getafe to Cordova, Cebu, and Super Shuttle Ferry 28 from Jagna to Balbagon, Camiguin, scheduled to depart at 2:30 p.m.

Trip cancellations are automatically implemented when the Philippine Coast Guard issues a no-sail policy, while shipping lines may also cancel services in compliance with the terms of their certificates of public convenience issued by the Maritime Industry Authority.
