Emmerdale reveals new horror for Vinny in early ITVX episode

Emmerdale spoilers follow from Wednesday's episode (23 September), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

Emmerdale has revealed a new horror for Vinny Dingle as he confesses his guilt over the fatal crash to Joe Tate. The character has recently been living with the guilt that he caused the crash that killed Jimmy King and Dawn Fletcher.

After being unable to live with it any longer, he told Nicola, who then revealed Vinny's guilt to mourners at The Woolpack, Vinny then heading to Home Farm to confess to Joe.

In tonight's (23 September) episode, which is available to stream now on ITVX and YouTube and is yet to air on TV, the aftermath of Vinny's reveal is shown, as he stumbles over his words and admits to Joe that he was excited about answering the call that led to the crash as he was engaged.

"I understand, I do," Joe responds, "having been engaged myself… only my fiance was killed!"

Billy Fletcher then hears the shouting, appearing before Joe reveals that Vinny was the culprit. Things then escalate, leading to Billy losing it and beating Vinny up.

While Vinny is bloodied and down on the floor, Graham Foster walks through the door and learns the truth about Vinny's guilt. He tells the others to clean up the mess they've caused, before discouraging Vinny to tell anyone about what has happened.

Later on, Joe hints at another culprit to Billy, while back home Vinny lies about how his face got bloodied. However, he then admits the truth to Mandy and Paddy about the crash, leaving the latter distraught over his actions.

"[A few seconds] is all it takes to kill two innocent people, and ruin I don't know how many other people's lives!" she declares, questioning why he didn't tell anyone.

After Mandy storms out, Paddy goes after her, though as Vinny goes to the sink, he collapses onto the floor.

The violence experienced by Vinny comes after his own history of physical abuse at the hands of his dad, as well as his ordeal of homophobic violence last year by villain Mike.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
