Too $hort felt the need to clear the air over the weekend. The Oakland rapper put out a lengthy statement apologizing for saying he would be going to Diddy’s coming-home party during a recent appearance on The TMZ Podcast.

“I’m going to the Puff Daddy ‘Coming Home’ party when he comes home,” he said after being asked if he thinks the embattled record executive will have a career once he gets out of prison. He then added that he’s not “judgmental” and suggested that, outside of the infamous Cassie hotel footage, Diddy probably shouldn’t be incarcerated while also insisting that he’s never been to a Diddy party that involved sex.

However, $hort Dawg has walked his previous statement back and posted an Instagram Reel on Sunday apologizing to anyone who felt offended by his words.

“I wanna thank all the people that called me yesterday, texted me, hit me up about this TMZ Puff Daddy thing. I was a little insensitive with my words,” the Bay Area rapper said. “I said that I didn’t condone what he did to Cassie, but I would go to his party if he came home, and I really didn’t know the full extent of the case. I did not know that there were a lot of women who had claimed that they had been abused by Puff Daddy, and how it affected them. I do not condone abuse in any kind of way. Not emotional, not physical, not sexual, and I don’t support anybody that does it. I wanna say, I’m sorry to the people that were hurt by the words that I said. I have listened, I have learned, I read up on it.”

He added: “I do not support abuse or abusers. And I just want to say I’m sorry for putting those words out there. If anything I said hurt anybody, I really do regret it. … When I say I’m going to go to his party, I was talking about the parties that he throws for his friends, not any party where it’s f—ing baby oil or some godd— sexual sh–. I’ve been to dozens of his parties and never once have I seen a naked person or a sexual act. … I hope that when my brother comes home that he has grown.”

Diddy was recently in the news after it was reported that he’s been figuring out how to live a lavish lifestyle behind bars with the help of certain inmates and prison staff.
