Lil Durk found not guilty in the murder for hire case

According to reports shared online by LA Magazine’s reporter, the rapper, who had been in court for charges of murder-for-hire, stalking, and conspiracy counts, has been cleared in court. After a three-day period, the jury in the Los Angeles court ruled that the rapper was not guilty on any of the counts.

His alleged co-conspirators, David ‘Browneyez’ Lindsey and Deandre ‘OTF Dede’ Wilson, were also cleared of the murder-for-hire charges; however, they were convicted of stalking and conspiracy concerning the Quando Rondo conspiracy case that ultimately led to the rapper's cousin’s death.

Their sentencing will be announced on a later date.

More about the Lil Durk case

The case had been on trial for two weeks, during which, according to Billboard, prosecutors had issued statements and alleged that Lil Durk had ordered his crew to murder Rondo.

The prosecutors had presented the argument that the hit was ordered in relation to the killing of his friend and collaborator King Von in 2020. According to the outlet, shots were fired at Rondo, and while he managed to survive, his cousin Saviay’a Robinson, who also went by the name Lul Pab, was killed in the crossfire.

The incident occurred in 2022 at a gas station in Los Angeles.During the trial, three people from the ‘OTF’ crew, who were allegedly involved in the incident, testified against Durk, stating that he had planned the entire thing, including arranging their travel from Chicago to Los Angeles for the incident.

They also alleged that the rapper promised them cash rewards for the attack. In response, the defense attorneys named Vonnie, one of the three people who testified against Durk, alleging he was the mastermind behind the murder plot. They also alleged he had access to Durk’s credit cards since he used to work as his personal assistant at the time.

Lil Durk is still involved in legal disputes

Despite being cleared in the Rondo conspiracy case, he is currently facing other charges, which include an additional racketeering count.

This accuses him and his ‘OTF’ label of operating as a “violent gang.” The charges were filed two months before this trial started and were not included in this case hearing either. Due to this, Durk may face a completely separate trial for these additional charges, which were filed under the federal Violent Crimes in Aid of Racketeering Activity statute.DISCLAIMER: If you or someone you know is struggling with any form of abuse, please seek support.
