Coronation Street's Betsy to be left humiliated after Debbie mistake

Coronation Street's Betsy Swain is left feeling mortified next week, after Lauren Bolton persuades her to come out for a meal at the Bistro. But what causes her upset?
Determined to help Betsy recover as quickly as possible, Lauren insists on treating her best friend to lunch at the Bistro.

Betsy agrees, but later regrets her decision when Debbie makes a comment that wrecks her confidence…
"It all starts when Betsy knocks some cutlery off the table," explains our Street source. "Lauren rushes to help her in an instant, but nearby Debbie notices and makes a joke that Betsy is under the influence of alcohol.
"Debbie has no clue just how hurtful the comment is, nor does she mean any harm, but still, Betsy is embarrassed beyond belief."
The incident comes as Debbie's loved ones become concerned about the increasing regularity of her memory lapses, which include turning up to work wearing slippers and later reliving her hairdressing past as she tries to give Bethany Platt an unauthorised makeover at Audrey's salon.
Debbie's husband Ronnie keeps stepping in to deal with the situations as they crop up, but he worries that her dementia symptoms are getting worse.

Meanwhile, at the start of the week, Lauren visits Betsy at No 6, but spends most of the time tapping away on her phone texting Ollie Driscoll.
Understandably, Betsy is upset by her mate's insensitive behaviour, leading her to confide in mum Lisa that she's struggling with loneliness.
Later, Betsy makes a breakthrough when she stands up for the first time since her stroke, with the help of her physiotherapist.

"Lauren has nothing but good intentions," notes our informant. "But she gets it wrong with Betsy this time. You'll have to watch to find out how exactly Betsy reacts to Lauren and Ollie's arrival."
Is Betsy's friendship with Lauren on the line?
