Cruz Montana is officially part of The 946 after a surprise appearance in the closing moments of WWE Raw on November 2. The former NXT star showed up wearing a mask and hit Roman Reigns with a chair while The Bloodline was fighting the faction in the ring. His identity got revealed moments later, which confirmed his involvement with Royce Keys and the rest of the group. It also marks his move to WWE's main roster, after he spent the opening months of his WWE run in NXT.

Cruz Montana unmasks himself after attacking Roman Reigns during The 946 and Bloodline brawl

The closing match between Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys had already turned into a faction fight when Bronco Nima, Lucien Price and Carmelo Hayes interfered.

The referee called for the bell, and Sikoa got a disqualification victory. Then Roman Reigns arrived with Jimmy and Jey Uso, and the fight spread across the ring pretty quick.

Reigns eventually gained control and got ready to hit Keys with a Spear. That's when a masked attacker came in and threw a chair at the World Heavyweight Champion. He followed with another attack before helping Keys back to his feet.

The mystery didn't last long. The attacker took off his mask and revealed himself as Cruz Montana, officially joining The 946.

The faction kept going after The Bloodline, with Jaida Parker handcuffing Jimmy Uso and OTM sending Jey through the announce table. Sami Zayn then walked in and hit Reigns with a Helluva Kick to close the show.

Shawn Michaels confirms Cruz Montana's main roster move after his surprise WWE Raw appearance

Montana's appearance wasn't just another masked attacker getting added to the faction. It was his move from NXT to WWE's main roster. He joined NXT in July after his time with TNA, where he previously held the World Championship.

NXT head Shawn Michaels also congratulated him on the promotion. Sharing the news on X, Michaels wrote, “Another one moving on up!” He also revealed that 19 NXT Superstars had moved to Raw and SmackDown over the previous 12 months.

Montana still has an NXT commitment on November 4, where he is set to face Dion Lennox in an unsanctioned match. UFC fighter Michael Chandler is expected to be special enforcer.

With Montana's addition, the faction now has six named members: Royce Keys, Bronco Nima, Lucien Price, Carmelo Hayes, Jaida Parker and Montana.

The group has been feuding with The Bloodline, with the November 2 episode ending in a six-on-three-style faction beatdown before Sami Zayn's interference. Montana's next scheduled appearance is particularly interesting given his NXT match against Lennox is still on the calendar.
