Prime Video Plans Mega Streaming Bundle With Five Services: Starz, AMC+, BritBox, MGM+ and PBS Masterpiece

The Amazon-owned streaming platform will debut a bundled offering that combines AMC+, Starz, MGM+, PBS Masterpiece and BritBox, the first time it will launch a bundle with five different services.

The bundle won’t be cheap, however, with a cost of $29.99 per month. That said, Prime Video notes that it is a 39 percent discount compared to subscribing to each of the plans individually.

The services involved are all somewhat niche, with a premium scripted twist, rather than reality or unscripted fare. AMC+, for example, features the Anne Rice and Walking Dead universes among other programming, while Starz has the Power and Outlander universes.

BritBox and PBS Masterpiece both have plenty of British fare while MGM+ includes films and originals from its library as well as exclusive shows.

“Today marks a milestone for our customers, the launch of the first-ever five-service streaming bundle on Prime Video. Our subscriptions and bundles business continues to see incredible growth because we stay focused on delivering unmatched selection, value and convenience,” said Ryan Pirozzi, head of Prime Video Channels, U.S. “With AMC+, MGM+, BritBox, PBS Masterpiece, and STARZ together, Prime Video customers get the premium entertainment they love, all in one place.”

Amazon Prime Video has emerged as a streaming powerhouse, not just because of its own offering, but because of its ability to bundle other services. Many services like HBO Max and Paramount+ are sold through Prime, with sources saying that it is a major driver of subscribers. Prime Video has also sought to create new bundles of streaming services through its platform, though almost all of those bundles have been only two services (with a couple of three service options).

The new offering shows a grander vision of bundling, one that could get very interesting if larger services sign on.
