EastEnders' Priya reveals devastating new secret in early iPlayer release

EastEnders spoilers follow for Monday's episode (21 September), which is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer and hasn't yet aired on TV.

Priya Nandra-Hart's world is shattered on EastEnders tonight as the paternity of her unborn baby finally comes to light. When Cindy Beale orders Priya to leave the Square, Ravi Gulati realises he isn't the biological father after all.

In tonight's episode, Priya and Ravi continue to play happy families, having decided to put Priya's recent fling behind them. The couple head off to their baby scan where they learn that they're expecting a boy.

On the tube ride home, ecstatic Ravi suggests sharing the news with their kids Avani and Nugget, but Priya insists there's no rush. Unbeknownst to the pair, suspicious Cindy is eavesdropping nearby.

At the Rovers, Cindy tells Jean Slater her theory that Max Branning is the father of Priya's baby and says Ravi should demand a DNA test. When Jean refuses to engage, Cindy resolves to "find out some other way" and breaks into their flat in search of evidence.

While rifling through Priya's things, Cindy finds the secret DNA test confirming Max is the father and takes a photo on her phone. She is interrupted by Priya, but instead of fleeing, she decides to confront her.

"I know you're knocked up with Max's baby," she asserts. "You know, I never thought Ravi was as thick as he was wide. He clearly thinks the baby's his."

Priya insists that she doesn't have any money to pay Cindy off, but the latter has other ideas. She demands Priya leave London immediately, threatening to "destroy everything" if she doesn't comply.

"I'm dealing with Max, but you humiliated me. You made a mockery of me and I never want to see your smug face again!" she said.

Later, Ravi returns home to find a distressed Priya, who claims she's going to Leeds to look after her poorly cousin. When Ravi pushes for answers, Priya reveals Cindy is going to make her life "hell" if she stays.

Realising there's no way out, Priya tearfully admits that the baby isn't Ravi's, leaving the latter heartbroken. How will he react, and is Max in danger?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
