‘We have an 8/10 chance of eliminating Kaizer Chiefs’: Red Arrows coach

Red Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe has sent a warning to Kaizer Chiefs ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup second-leg clash on Friday evening.

The Zambian side edged out Amakhosi 1-0 in the first leg.

Looking ahead of the second leg on Friday at FNB, Mbewe said his side were confident of eliminating the Glamour Boys.

“We are very confident. This is a competition; we shouldn’t give it away,” Mbewe said as per KickOff.

“I think we’re in this competition to compete, and I think even coming into this game, we had planned.”

He said his team should have scored atleast three goals at home to kill off the tie.

Kaizer Chiefs on the verge of elimination

“The goals that we actually wanted to score in this game were three goals.

“That’s what was our target, and I think you could even see the chances that we created,” Mbewe added.

The Red Arrows coach said he was almost certain that his side would edge out Kaizer Chiefs and reach the CAF Confederation Cup group stages.

“I can assure you that this time around, Red Arrows is qualifying for the group stage.

“On a scale of one to ten? I would say eight out of ten,” Mbewe concluded.

“We’re only maybe disappointed on the part where we created a lot of chances but only managed to convert one goal.”

Kaizer Chiefs need to win by atleast two clear goals to advance to the group stages. Failure to do that will put more pressure on head coach Fernando Da Cruz.
