KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Labuan and 10 states until 7pm today.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the adverse weather was expected to affect several areas in Kedah, namely Kuala Muda, Sik and Baling; Perak, including Hulu Perak, Selama, Kerian, Larut Matang, Kuala Kangsar, Hilir Perak and Bagan Datuk; and Kelantan, covering Kuala Krai and Jeli.

The same warning was issued for Kemaman, Dungun and Hulu Terengganu in Terengganu; Rompin, Maran, Temerloh and Bera in Pahang; and Hulu Langat, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Sepang and Kuala Langat in Selangor, reported Bernama.

In Negeri Sembilan, the affected areas are Seremban and Port Dickson, while in Johor they are Segamat, Tangkak, Muar, Kluang, Batu Pahat, Johor Bahru, Kulai and Pontian.

In Sarawak, the warning covers Mukah (Matu, Dalat, Mukah and Daro), Sibu (Selangau and Sibu), Kapit (Kapit, Bukit Mabong and Song), Bintulu, Miri (Subis), Limbang, Sri Aman (Sri Aman, Pantu and Lingga), Samarahan, Betong, Serian and Kuching.

In Sabah, the affected areas are the Interior (Beaufort, Membakut, Sipitang, Tambunan, Keningau, Tenom and Kuala Penyu) and the West Coast (Papar, Penampang, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Putatan and Kota Belud).
