London travel news LIVE: King's Cross train cancellations as electricity supply failure sparks chaos

An electricity supply failure is causing major disruption to trains in and out of London King’s Cross.

The issue, between Stevenage and Finsbury Park, is affecting a raft of rail operators including Great Northern, Grand Central, Hull Trains, LNER, Lumo and Thameslink.

National Rail was reporting at 6.30am that the disruption is expected to last until midday.

Disruption at Alexandra Palace

A problem with the station lighting at Alexandra Palace means that some northbound Great Northern trains be revised to may run through this station non stop.

Disruption is expected until around 8.30am.

Electricity supply faulty impacting Kings Cross services

A failure with the electricity supply between Stevenage and Finsbury Park means that fewer trains are able to run this morning.

Services between Stevenage and London may be subject to cancellations, alterations or delays, with disruption expected until at least 12pm.

A number of Great Northern, Grand Central, LNER, Lumo and Thameslink services will be affected - passengers are advised to check their journeys before they travel.
