Russia strikes another major bridge in Kyiv, says mayor
A major bridge in Kyiv was targeted in a Russian strike on Saturday, the city's mayor said, as Moscow's intensifies its attacks on infrastructure in the Ukrainian capital.
The Northern Bridge across the Dnipro river was struck in the air attack, following a drone alert.
No casualties were reported in the strike.
"Emergency services are heading to the scene," Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in a statement posted on Telegram.
Escalating strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure
Klitschko added that the road surface and trolleybus wires on the bridge were damaged in the attack.
"Traffic across the bridge from the left bank to the right bank is currently blocked," he said.
The latest attack comes after the last two days saw the city's Southern Bridge being hit several times in a volley of strikes by Russian drones.
The attacks caused traffic chaos in Ukraine's capital, with long lines of stationary cars and buses clogging major roads.

A total of eight bridges connect Kyiv's western and eastern banks along the Dnipro River.
In the years following its February 2022 invasion of Ukraine, Russia has frequently targeted Kyiv with overnight drone attacks.
Last week, Russia launched what Ukrainians saw as the start of an expected winter bombing campaign focused on facilities that supply power to the capital.
Moscow has previously denied a systematic targeting of civilians during its bombings.
