Channing Dungey To Oversee Warner Bros. International TV Production As Division Moves Under Skydance TV Studios

Translate

Warner Bros. International TV Production, the division that operates around 20 production companies around the world that make international versions of formats such as The Bachelor, has a new home within Skydance.

The unit, which is run by President Ronald Goes, will sit under Skydance TV Studios and will be overseen by Warner Bros. Television Group chief Channing Dungey.

The news emerged from a note from JB Perette, Co-Chair & Chief Business Officer, Skydance TV and Skydance Direct-To-Consumer (DTC), sent to colleagues this afternoon, seen by Deadline.

Interestingly, Warner Bros. International TV Production (WBITVP) never sat under Dungey’s leadership as Goes reported to Gerhard Zeiler, who was President, International, Warner Bros. Discovery.

It caps an interesting couple of years for the division; before Skydance’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, WBITVP was set to join the Discovery side of the business when former WBD chief David Zaslav planned to create Discovery Global, lead by Gunnar Wiedenfels, as part of its split with studios and streaming, before the entire studio became a major acquisition target.

WBITVP is a collection of production companies including Twenty Twenty, which is behind HGTV’s Castle Impossible and Netflix’s Love Con Revenge, Wall to Wall, which produces Magnolia’s Back to the Frontier, Ricochet, which makes BBC’s The Repair Shop, Belgium’s Eyeworks, Holland’s BlazHoffski as well as divisions in France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, New Zealand and Australia.

These companies also produce international versions of Warner Bros.’ hit formats including The Bachelor franchise, First Dates and FBoy Island as well as newer titles including Unacceptable, 100 Cooks and Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking.

Goes leads the senior management team alongside colleagues including Andy Zein, EVP, Creative Format Development & Sales, and Alex Ogilvie, Group SVP, Finance & Operations.

The move should help WBITVP work closer with Warner Bros. Television Group, which is led by Dungey, who has a number of new units reporting to her including the Paramount cable networks.
