#SHOWBIZ: 'Love has no age': Bernice Liu addresses romance with 70-year-old billionaire

HONG KONG: They say age is just a number when it comes to love, and for former TVB actress Bernice Liu, that number is reportedly 23 years.
The 47-year-old Hong Kong star has recently been linked to wealthy businessman Frederick Lui Lai Cheung, the 70-year-old former chairman of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, according to 8Days.
Attending a charity event on Oct 25, the Lion Mums actress addressed the media speculation surrounding her high-profile admirer.
While she did not explicitly confirm their relationship, she made no attempt to deny the rumours either.
"I'm happy! Actually, the most important thing for everyone, whether male or female, is to be happy," she shared with a smile.
When asked about their noticeable age gap, she dismissed the concern completely, saying: "Love has never been about age. The most important thing is that two people get along well."
Naturally, reporters pressed to find out if wedding bells were on the horizon, but Liu stayed cool and composed.
"There are no plans yet," she replied, adding that if there were any special news to celebrate, she would definitely share it with everyone.
Speculation had already grown after Liu posted a photo on Instagram showing the words "Love You B" written across the sky, alongside a playful caption asking who her mystery suitor might be.
Fans online immediately wondered if the billionaire had arranged the grand gesture, with some even guessing it was a proposal.
But Liu quickly cleared the air, explaining that the skywriting was done by an aircraft and had nothing to do with her.
"It's none of my business. You guys are reading too much into it," she laughed.
Yet when asked if the stunt might pressure Lui into planning an even grander proposal, she playfully replied: "I don't know. You'll have to ask him."
This is not the first time the actress has made headlines for her high-society connections.
She was previously linked to billionaire Calvin Lo in 2018, as well as entrepreneur Alastair Lam.
Yet, despite her history with wealthy suitors, Liu has also famously dated fellow actors Hawick Lau and Moses Chan—proving that when it comes to romance, her heart remains open.
