Toss India chose to bowl vs West Indies

Shreyas Iyer was back to winning the toss as India decided to chase in their bid to win the series before going into the final match. They didn't make any change to the XI from the previous match, when they successfully defended a total for the first time for any team during West Indies' tour of India.

West Indies made two changes, dropping the opening batter Kamil Pooran for Jewel Andrew. Pooran, a late bloomer who made his way into the international team on the back of a good CPL, has scored just 58 runs in three innings at a strike rate of 145. West Indies also welcomed back Romario Shepherd, who missed the third T20I with injury. Quentin Sampson had to sit out.

The anticipation of another high-scoring match had to be tempered because of a freshly relaid square in Hyderabad. Neither captain was entirely certain how the pitch would play. The outfield, also relaid, didn't look like the usual smooth ones you see in international cricket. The bumpiness could make for hesitation to dive and a little untidiness in the field.

West Indies 1 Shai Hope (capt. & wk), 2 Jewel Andrew, 3 Shimron Hetmyer, 4 Rovman Powell, 5 Sherfane Rutherford, 6 Romario Shepherd, 7 Roston Chase, 8 Shamar Springer, 9 Keemo Paul, 10 Shamar Joseph, 11 Gudakesh Motie

India 1 Abhishek Sharma, 2 Sanju Samson (wk), 3 Ishan Kishan, 4 Shreyas Iyer (capt.), 5 Tilak Varma, 6 Naman Dhir, 7 Nitish Kumar Reddy, 8 Axar Patel, 9 Prince Yadav, 10 Mayank Yadav, 11 Arshdeep Singh
