Low-income housing in IKN reaches 88.22 percent: Ministry

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Housing and Settlement Areas Ministry (PKP) has said that the construction progress on low-income housing (MBR) apartment blocks in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) has reached 88.22 percent.

Director General of Urban Housing at the ministry Sri Haryati said construction is continuing and is targeted for completion on schedule by the end of 2026.

"In IKN, we also have construction for MBR, low-income communities. The physical progress is currently at 88.22 percent," Haryati said after a working meeting with House of Representatives (DPR) Commission V here on Thursday.

Haryati said the PKP Ministry is optimistic that the apartment block construction can be completed by the end of the year, in line with the target.

"For this apartment block, we are confident it will be completed on schedule by the end of the year," she said.

The MBR apartment block is located in Sepaku sub-district, North Penajam Paser district, East Kalimantan, and is intended for low-income communities affected by IKN's development.

According to data from the PKP Ministry's Kalimantan II Housing and Settlement Areas Provision Implementation Center (BP3KP), the apartment block consists of a single four-story tower with a total of 65 type-36 units, equipped with a number of supporting facilities.

Physical construction of the IKN MBR apartment block has a budget ceiling of Rp104.03 billion.

As of January 29, 2026, physical progress stood at 22.22 percent, with work at the time focused on the building's structure.

By the next monitoring period on July 15, 2026, physical progress had risen to 69.204 percent. At that time, the PKP Ministry noted the construction was ahead of schedule.

With the 88.22 percent progress reported on Thursday, physical construction of the IKN MBR apartment block has advanced by around 19 percentage points compared to mid-July.

In addition to the MBR apartment block, Haryati said construction of housing for Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel in IKN has reached 100 percent physical completion, with financial realization at 99 percent.

Housing is one part of IKN's development, supporting the needs of both government personnel and the community in the area.

The IKN Authority (OIKN) continues to develop housing schemes through direct construction as well as public-private partnership.
