Springbok team the last time they played the All Blacks at Ellis Park

The Springboks and All Blacks are preparing to face each other for the 111th time in their long history at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Saturday, 22 August.

Kick-off is at 17:10.

The two sides have faced off on 16 previous occasions at Ellis Park, no match more memorable than the 1995 Rugby World Cup final.

The most recent occasion at the famed ground came on 31 August 2024 when the Springboks edged their All Blacks counterparts 31-27.

The Springboks’ points that day came via tries by hooker Bongi Mbonambi and reserves Kwagga Smith and Grant Williams. Flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu added two conversions and four penalties.

The All Blacks replied with four tries, two conversions and a penalty.

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has delayed the naming of his side for Saturday’s match until Thursday afternoon.
