Como star Nico Paz scored a fantastic chip as Argentina put in a 4-0 victory over Bolivia as they prepare to bid farewell to their legendary captain and arguably the greatest footballer to have ever kicked a ball, Lionel Messi.

The Argentina national team played against Bolivia in Messi’s absence in the early hours of Thursday morning and will do the same when they take on Burkina Faso at 1.00 BST in the early hours of Sunday morning. Messi will return for one final run-out against Benin at 00.00 BST on Wednesday October 7.

Nico Paz, who has been tipped as one of the candidates to take over Messi’s iconic no.10 shirt after his international retirement, was in fine form during the Bolivia match last night and contributed with a wonderful finish for his nation’s second goal of the night.
Ezequeil Palacios, who had also been involved in setting up Lautaro Martinez for Argentina’s first of the night, played in a delicate through ball, which Paz caught onto in the area before applying a delicately dinked finish over the opposition goalkeeper for 2-0.

There were several Serie A stars involved for the Argentina national team on the night, including Paz, Martinez, as well as Roma’s Leonardo Balerdi and Fiorentina’s Franco Mastantuono from the bench. Juventus’s Nico Gonzalez and Giallorossi duo Matias Soule and Santiago Castro were unused substitutes.
