Missing 14-year-old boy attacked by crocodile found dead

SEBUYAU: A 14-year-old boy who was reported missing after being attacked by a crocodile in Ulu Sungai Plaie was found dead about 800m from the Kampung Tuba jetty at 8pm yesterday.
The victim, Mohd Nordin Mohd Othman, was found with several body parts missing.
A Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operations centre spokesman said the discovery followed a report from a Kampung Tuba villager who spotted a crocodile carrying something in its mouth about 6pm.
The villager was returning home after visiting the victim's family in Kampung Plaie when he saw the crocodile.
"The resident returned to the location about 8pm and found the victim's body, which was believed to have been regurgitated by the crocodile," the spokesman said.
The victim was identified by his grandfather, Dana Randi.
Initial examination found that several body parts were missing, with bite marks and other injuries on the body.
Police later took the remains to Simunjan Hospital for further action.
The boy was reportedly attacked by a crocodile while loading oil palm fruit into a boat at Sungai Plaie, Ulu Sebuyau, on Monday.
The incident, which occurred at 5.30pm, was witnessed by his uncle, Midin Radin, who then informed the Sungai Plaie village head.
Following the discovery, the search and rescue operation was called off at 4am today.
