Dolly Parton’s Travel Stop Releases New Videos That Include a New Jingle, Star Talking Stop’s Importance

In celebration of the upcoming Trucker’s Appreciation Week, Dolly Parton‘s Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop released a series of previously unseen videos on Thursday (Sept. 10), featuring the country icon discussing why opening the travel stop was so important to her.
One of her final public appearances happened in June, when she visited Cornersville, Tenn., approximately an hour south of Nashville, to celebrate the grand opening of Dolly Parton’s Tennessean Travel Stop. The travel stop features amenities including a dog park, a full-service restaurant and bar, and a comfortable lounge.
In one video, Parton explained why she felt the travel stop was so special, noting she wanted it to feel like “a home away from home,” adding, “Well, it’s got little touches of me everywhere, from the rhinestone instruments to the big pictures on the wall, merchandise that I’ve hand selected, to the recipes from my various cookbooks, it’s all about the milestones that I have been fortunate enough to see in my career.”
In another video, the star discussed why opening a travel stop was important to her. “Who better to own a travel stop than someone who’s spent their entire life on the road?” she said. “I’ve been traveling since 1967, just to make my living … and I know that every musician who’s working in this business knows about a good travel stop: You want to have a good, clean restroom, a nice place to sit and some entertainment, some great snacks, and a fantastic meal … I believe we are providing every one of those things.”
During Trucker’s Appreciation Week Sept. 13-19, Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop will offer special perks for truckers, including complimentary food and beverages and reserved seating in the travel stop. Truckers who are enrolled in the travel stop’s perk program can access a free self-serve Cup of Ambition Coffee, a DLY BBQ meal and more.
Parton died on Aug. 25 in Nashville, at age 80 after a brief battle with cancer.
In addition to the newly released videos, Parton’s team released a banjo-inflected jingle that the artist had custom-created to promote the travel stop.
