Nora Fatehi to appear before Rouse Avenue Court today; to join as witness in Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs 200 crore extortion case

Actress Nora Fatehi is confirmed to appear before the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi on November 6, 2026, as a witness in the ongoing Enforcement Directorate of Economic Offences (EOW) proceedings linked to the Rs 200-crore extortion case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.A spokesperson confirmed to ETimes, "Nora Fatehi will appear before the Rouse Avenue Court, Delhi, on November 6, 2026, in her capacity as a witness in the ongoing EOW proceedings."According to NDTV, the court issued fresh summons after Fatehi failed to appear on the earlier date. Her lawyer had sought an exemption from personal appearance, however, the court rejected the request and directed her to appear, noting that she had been summoned as a 'witness'.The court also reportedly expressed displeasure over her conduct, reportedly stating that it was ‘not up to the mark’, and reprimanded her counsel over her absence. She is now expected to give her statement and assist the authorities with information relevant to the case.Following the earlier hearing, Fatehi’s legal team issued a statement on Tuesday, explaining the circumstances surrounding her absence. It read, “The EOW matter concerning Sukesh Chandra Shekhar was listed today before the Rouse Avenue Court, Delhi, where Nora Fatehi was summoned as a witness.

Her advocates appeared before the Court and submitted that she had received the summons at a very short notice and was unable to attend due to prior professional commitments.

An application seeking exemption from personal appearance was filed, following which the matter was adjourned to 6 November 2026, with fresh summons issued for her appearance.”The statement further clarified that Fatehi "is neither an accused nor alleged to have committed any offence in these proceedings. She has been summoned solely as a witness to assist the Court,” her legal team added.
