Michelle Rodriguez Latest To Join Amazon MGM Studios’ Romantic Comedy ‘Egg Baby’

EXCLUSIVE: Michelle Rodriguez, of the Fast & Furious franchise, is the newest addition to Amazon MGM’s rom-com Egg Baby.

No word yet on the role she’ll play. She joins a cast led by Ariana Greenblatt, which also includes Kingston Rumi Southwick, Arthur Conti and Jean Smart, fresh off five seasons of Hacks.

Written by Sawyer Perry, Egg Baby follows a rebellious artist (Greenblatt) and a golden-boy quarterback (Southwick) who are forced to co-parent an egg for health class, only to find that raising “Yolk-o” might crack open something real between them.

Natalia Anderson is directing, with XYZ Films producing alongside Allison Friedman (Find Your Friends), in association with BuzzFeed Studios. We scooped Amazon MGM’s acquisition of the film for streaming in June.

With her role of Letty Ortiz, elite street racer and wife of Dom Toretto, Rodriguez is one of the Fast & franchise’s core cast members. She’s next set to reprise in Fast Forever, a film wrapping up Toretto’s storyline, which Universal releases on March 17, 2028.

Other film credits for Rodriguez include James Cameron’s Avatar, 2002’s Resident Evil, S.W.A.T., Blue Crush, Battle: Los Angeles, Machete, Widows and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. On television, she starred as Ana Lucia Cortez on ABC’s Lost. She is represented by CAA and attorney David Markman.
