Exclusive: Emmerdale confirms Joe Tate's dark future after wedding plot

Emmerdale stars Ned Porteous and Olivia Bromley have teased what the future could look like for Joe Tate if Dawn Taylor pulls off her risky plan to leave him at the altar.

Viewers know that Dawn is plotting to escape with her ex-husband Billy, their children, and her unborn child. But outsmarting Joe is never simple...

With Dawn and Joe's wedding airing next week, it's still unclear whether Dawn will choose to run off with Billy or to stay and marry Joe, despite falsely believing that Joe attacked Billy. However, it has been revealed by Emmerdale that disaster will strike on the big day, in an incident that will leave village onlookers shellshocked.

Speaking exclusively to Inside Soap at a photoshoot celebrating Emmerdale's Inside Soap Awards nominations, Ned (Joe) and Olivia (Dawn) revealed what could happen to Joe if he was to lose everything.

"Joe has the chance to be a version of the father he never had," contemplates Ned. "He sees that a lot of the pain and struggle in his life has come from not having a strong parental system around him, and this is a fresh start.

"Joe is anchored morally by the few people in his life that he can be himself with, but if you remove that anchor, I’m sure Joe would fly off every possible handle, and everyone in the village will perish in his wake! Let’s hope he gets the happy ending he deserves…"

"Meanwhile, Dawn thinks Joe is a complete psychopath and that she needs to get out of there!" adds Olivia.

With the couple's big day sure to bring the signature soap dramatics, Olivia and Ned also hinted at what fans can expect as the epic week unfolds.

"Dawn has already had one wedding that was a complete disaster, and this one is going to go quite awry too," laughs Olivia. "But it’s always fun to do a big soapy thing, isn’t it?"

"Absolutely!" Ned continues. "If you are going to do it, it might as well be the biggest, bombastic week. All I can say is that all hell is going to break loose…"
