Trump calls Norway a ‘shithouse country’ over Nobel Peace Prize snub

Translate

US President Donald Trump has launched a fresh verbal attack on Norway, branding the wealthy Nordic nation a “shithouse country”.

Speaking at a rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, Trump tied his remarks to his repeated frustration over being denied the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump said Sunday he would welcome immigrants from certain countries but not Norway "because I didn't get the Nobel Prize." "So I don't want anybody from Norway," he said.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide responded to Trump's comments on Monday, maintaining that the committee is independent.
