Last week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived in Birmingham with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, officially marking their move from Montecito to the UK. In a recent comment, US President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on the royal couple’s move back to Prince Harry’s home country after spending the past six years in California.

On September 2, Oval Office reporters asked Donald Trump about Prince Harry’s sudden move. When asked, “What's your reaction to the news that Prince Harry and Meghan have left the US and gone back to Britain?" Trump replied by saying, “I'm happy about it. I was not a fan. I wouldn't have taken them back.”He continued that he and the late Queen Elizabeth had a good relationship before her passing and that he and King Charles have also developed a good connection and gotten to know each other very well since the monarch took over the throne.

He further explained, “I’ve known him for a long time. He’s a great, great guy, and I thought [Harry and Meghan] treated the royal family with great disrespect.”"I didn’t like it. I didn’t like the way she acted. I thought she was terribly disrespectful to the Queen and to King Charles. And I don’t know, maybe I’m different; I wouldn’t have taken them back. Frankly, if I were the royal family, I would not have taken them back," he commented.

About Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s move to the UK

Weeks ago, PEOPLE reported that the royal couple is planning on moving back to the UK for an indefinite period of time. Last week, the couple, along with their children, were spotted landing in Birmingham. It was also reported that both Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have enrolled in school there and have possibly started attending classes by the beginning of September.The report also revealed that King Charles learned of the move on August 16 and welcomed the decision. Prince Harry, for the past couple of months, has been keen to make up for lost time with his family in the UK. He has expressed his wish for reconciliation on multiple occasions and recently travelled with his family to the UK to attend the Invictus Games events. The family of four also had a private meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla, who saw their grandchildren after almost four years.

Brothers Prince Harry and Prince William reportedly did not reconnect during his UK visit and still have not reconciled.
