Indonesia housing credit reaches Rp25.8T, serving 110,582 borrowers

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Housing and Settlement Areas Ministry (PKP) said disbursement of the Housing Program Credit (KPP) had reached Rp25.8 trillion for 110,582 borrowers as of Thursday.

Director General of Urban Housing at the PKP Ministry Sri Haryati explained that the disbursement covered both the supply side of the housing sector and demand from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

"The housing Smallholder Business Credit (KUR) as of today has risen again, with a total of Rp25.8 trillion. So the total number of borrowers stands at 110,582," Haryati said after a working meeting with House of Representatives (DPR) Commission V here on Thursday.

On the supply side, KPP disbursement reached Rp8.7 trillion for 3,589 borrowers, comprising Rp5.1 trillion for 1,330 developers, Rp2.6 trillion for 1,882 building material traders, and Rp1 trillion for 377 contractors.

Meanwhile, on the demand side, the financing was used by 88,183 borrowers for home renovations, 9,583 borrowers for home purchases, and 9,227 borrowers for home construction.

"For all types of MSMEs, we can facilitate renovation, construction, and home purchases, as long as they support their business activities," Haryati said.

She added that state-owned Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) recorded the largest KPP disbursement, at Rp12.3 trillion. Of that amount, Rp2.4 trillion was disbursed on the supply side and Rp9.9 trillion on the demand side, serving 83,211 borrowers.

By region, Central Java recorded the highest disbursement at Rp5.9 trillion for 31,481 borrowers, followed by East Java at Rp4.2 trillion for 22,474 borrowers. West Java, South Sulawesi, and Bali followed.

Meanwhile, Housing and Settlement Areas Minister Maruarar Sirait said financing outside the ministry's own budget allocation was one source of support for expanding public and business access to the housing sector.

"The housing sector receives support from various parties, not only from the state budget (APBN)," Sirait said.

The government raised the KPP ceiling for 2026 from Rp36 trillion to Rp50 trillion. The ministry said the higher ceiling was aimed at expanding access to housing financing following positive progress in the program's disbursement.
