Reactions to Doumbia’s first Champions League goal

The 22-year-old made his senior Italy debut during the latest international break, featuring in all four of the Azzurri’s games, three times as a substitute and then starting in the final match against Turkiye.
“My first goal of the season, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to score it than in the Champions League,” Doumbia wrote on Instagram, sharing photos of his celebration.
“A special night, an indescribable feeling, and so much happiness regarding the whole team’s performance. Proud of how we fought and played together, because the best emotions are the ones we share. Let’s keep it up, Lions.”
Two of his Italy teammates, Mohamed Ali Zoma and Moise Kean, were among those commenting on Doumbia’s latest Instagram post: “First of many,” wrote Zoma, while Kean’s message read: “You king.”

Doumbia joined Sporting CP from Venezia last summer after helping the Lagunari secure promotion to Serie A from Italy’s Serie B.
Sporting CP paid €20.5m to secure his services, and Doumbia signed a contract until June 2031.
Doumbia now has one goal and one assist in ten appearances with Sporting CP.
