Cara Delevingne Reveals How BFF Taylor Swift Has Supported Her Music Career
Cara Delevingne has found her rhythm with a new career milestone.
The internet learned just that when the supermodel made her late-night TV musical debut on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon Sept. 23, performing "Crazy, Baby" off of her upcoming album Not Normal.
"Wait like THE Cara Delevigne? Shes a musician??" one Instagram user commented on the social media platform, while another quipped, "Model, actress, musician... she’s collecting titles like Infinity Stones."
Even SZA had to do a double take, writing under a clip of her performance, "Took me a second to figure out who this was and I liked that."
In fact, the Grammy winner praised Delevingne for "following a dream."
"I wonder if everyone realizes how unoriginal and boring it is to hate and critique everything lol," SZA, 36, wrote after seeing criticism against the 34-year-old for expanding her horizons. "Having curiosity for new things is WAY more exciting!"
Indeed, Delevingne has worn many hats—both literally and metaphorically—since breaking out onto the fashion scene in 2011. She made her acting debut alongside Keira Knightley in 2012's Anna Karenina, before going on to star in 2015's Paper Towns and 2016's Suicide Squad.
And over the years, the American Horror Story: Delicate actress has only expanded her resume. In addition to her work as a music video director for Reneé Rapp and Rainey Qualley's musical alter ego Rainsford, Delevingne dabbled in theater by playing the iconic Sally Bowles in a West End production of Cabaret in 2024.

“I probably wouldn’t be standing here without Fiona Apple,” Delevingne told E! News in April. "She was one of my biggest idols—is one of my biggest idols. But also someone who really believed in me and gave me the confidence to continue and do it and we would send back and forth incredible creative notes and inspiration.”
She also credits pal Taylor Swift for giving her the invaluable advice that "the more you do, the more people there are gonna be that question it."
"Art is a pure expression of yourself," Delevingne added. "So, if you’re doing what you feel is right, nothing else really matters."
