Negri Sembilan MB meets Tuanku Muhriz

SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim met Yang Dipertuan Besar Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir at Istana Hinggap here this morning amid the ongoing constitutional and adat crisis in the state.

Ismail arrived at the palace at 10.50am, while the vehicle carrying Tuanku Muhriz was seen entering the palace grounds at 11am.

The meeting was also attended by Undang Luak Sungai Ujong Datuk Klana Petra Muhammad Faris Johari, Undang Luak Rembau Datuk Sedia Raja Hassan Ab Hamid and Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad.

The meeting is understood to be related to the ongoing crisis, including the termination of 10 state executive councillors (exco).

Recently, Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urged Ismail to meet Tuanku Muhriz and the Undang Yang Empat to seek a resolution to the state administration crisis.

He also called for meetings with Tunku Besar Tampin, Datuk Shahbandar and other adat authorities, while taking into account the Negri Sembilan State Constitution, adat and relevant regulations.

Yesterday, Bukit Aman police completed recording statements from 10 former exco members and several other individuals in connection with the ongoing palace crisis.

The 10 former exco members comprise Umno representatives Datuk Mustapha Nagoor (Palong), Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli (Linggi), Datuk Zaiful Bahri Idris (Chembong), Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali (Sungai Lui), Datuk Asna Mohd Amin (Lenggeng), Siti Nur Umaira Hasim (Labu) and Suhaimizan Bizar (Gemencheh).

The other three are MCA representative Siow Kong Choon (Chennah), Pas representative Fairuz Isa (Serting) and Wawasan representative Datuk Razali Abu Samah (Sikamat).
