EastEnders airs another return amid huge Nancy twist in early iPlayer release

EastEnders spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (5 October), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has revealed a huge twist about Nancy Carter as she returns to Albert Square, with another character making a surprise comeback. Up until this point, the reason for Nancy’s return has been kept tightly under wraps, but thing have now started to become a bit clearer…

At the start of today’s episode, Nancy arrived in Walford for the first time since 2022, pulling up in a taxi – and she was secretly back home to speak to her lawyer brother Johnny.

Nancy wanted Johnny’s help with something, as a situation she was involved in had changed and she needed to know where she stands legally – having not signed a contract.

Johnny promised he would try his best to help even though he was busy with work. But at that moment, Nancy suddenly doubled over in pain.

Meanwhile, oblivious Linda continued to enjoy her secret romance with Max, but the loved-up pair were stunned when Annie and Ollie caught them kissing.

Linda wasn’t happy that the kids found out that way, but Max was keen to keep their relationship from their loved ones, at least until his marriage to Cindy was annulled.

Later, Max spotted Johnny putting Nancy in a taxi and heard that she was going to hospital. He wasted no time in telling Linda and Elaine, who had no idea that Nancy was back in town.

Linda immediately headed to the hospital with her mum and soon came face to face with her daughter – and she and viewers discovered that Nancy was heavily pregnant.

While Linda was initially excited, Nancy made clear that she was only back in Walford to see Johnny, and that her surprising pregnancy was not what she thinks it is.

Mother and daughter soon began rowing about the situation and Nancy told Linda to leave. Nancy later returned to the Square to tell her mum the truth but first phoned someone and asked them to be with her when she broke the news.

Linda was confused when Nancy returned with her brother Lee, whose confirmed return to the soap had been kept out of this week’s spoilers. Lee then dropped the bombshell that he is the dad of the baby that Nancy is carrying…
