Netflix Is Officially Filling In Multiple NCIS Gaps In October

This October, Netflix is making some major changes to its lineup of crime procedurals. While the streamer has plenty of original crime dramas, like Monster, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Mindhunter and Ozark, there are also several licensed shows available to stream on Netflix right now, from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul to The Blacklist and Dark Winds.
Another crime drama that subscribers can stream is the long-running CBS series NCIS. Even though 23 seasons have aired so far, only NCIS seasons 18 and 19 are currently on Netflix, as part of the platform's ongoing list of rotating content licensed from other networks and studios. Unfortunately, these two seasons will be leaving on October 1, which means September 30 is the final day that subscribers can access them. Ghostbusters, Clueless, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Halo seasons 1 and 2 are just some of the many movies and shows also being removed on the same day.
Netflix Is Expanding Its NCIS Roster
However, once that takes place, Netflix won't be completely lacking any NCIS content, as the streamer will continue to fill in multiple gaps in the series by adding seasons 20 to 22, which originally aired on CBS from 2022 to 2025, on October 1. NCIS will be joined by other licensed shows throughout the month of October, like The Way Home season 4, multiple seasons of Mayor of Kingstown, All American season 8, Solar Opposites season 6 and Blindspotting seasons 1 and 2.
On the movie side, 21 Jump Street, 8 Mile, A Madea Family Funeral, the Bourne franchise, Friday the 13th (2009), Pearl Harbor, The Da Vinci Code, The Devil Wears Prada, The Sixth Sense, The Twilight Saga, The Fate of the Furious, Gladiator and several others will also be added to Netflix.
The New Release Comes At The Perfect Time
The arrival of NCIS seasons 20 to 22 on Netflix comes just days before a brand-new season premieres on CBS. NCIS season 24 begins airing on October 6, with Michael Weatherly returning as Tony DiNozzo alongside Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover and Gary Cole. The team is still dealing with the aftermath of the standoff between McGee's son and Torres, but they've also got the added stress from a threat targeting the Secretary of the Navy.
That same night, CBS will launch NCIS: New York and air the NCIS: Origins season 3 premiere. Aside from the limited content on Netflix, almost every series from the NCIS franchise is available on Paramount+, with upcoming episodes streaming the day after they air on TV.
NCIS seasons 20 to 22 will join Netflix on Thursday, October 1, while season 24 premieres Tuesday, October 6 at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
