Another 65 Nigerians return from S’Africa Wednesday

The Federal Government has announced that another batch of 65 Nigerians is scheduled to arrive in Nigeria from South Africa on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

This was disclosed in a notice on Tuesday by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa.

The ministry said the returnees, sponsored by private individuals, would depart the Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, at 3.30 pm local time aboard South African Airways.

The notice read, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform that another set of 65 Nigerian nationals sponsored by private individuals will depart the Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa tomorrow, Wednesday 26th August 2026 at 3.30 pm local time via South African Airways.

“The expected time of arrival of the returnees at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos is 8.45 in the evening same day.”

The returnees are being repatriated amid recent anti-foreigner attacks and discrimination in South Africa.

The latest return comes after the government announced the return of 83 Nigerians from the country last week.

The 83 returnees were similarly sponsored through the intervention of public-spirited private individuals.
