SIBU, Sept 20 — A man was killed while three others were injured in an accident involving a car and a trailer at KM5, Jalan Salim here early today.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said it received a distress call at 2.25am.

“One of the victims was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by firefighters using rescue equipment.

“The victim was successfully removed from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel,” Bomba said in a statement.

The deceased was identified as Herbert Augustine Andoh, 44.

Bomba said the three injured victims, aged 28, 33 and 39, were taken to hospital in Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) and Health Ministry ambulances for further treatment.

It added that the deceased was subsequently handed over to police for further action.
