Springboks vs All Blacks: Head-to-head record

The Springboks and All Blacks will clash for the 112th time at the Cape Town Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday, 29 August.

Kick-off is scheduled for 17:10.

The record books will forever show that the sides first did battle on 13 August 1921 in Carisbook in New Zealand, a little over 105 years ago.

Of the 111 Tests played to date, the All Blacks have won 64 with the Springboks emerging victorious on 43 occasions.

There have also been four draws.

In those matches, the All Blacks have scored a total of 2 302 points compared to the 1 866 amassed by the Springboks, giving an average final score of 21-17 in favour of the Kiwis.

Post-isolation

Since South Africa returned to the international rugby fold in 1992, the Springboks have won 23 of the 74 Tests against the All Blacks, with New Zealand victorious on 49 occasions.

There have also been two draws.

However, in the 12 Tests over the past five years, the Springboks have won seven and lost five.

Saturday’s match is the second in the four-Test ‘Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry’ series. The All Blacks hold a 1-0 lead thanks to their 33-16 win at Ellis Park last weekend.

The third Test will take place at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 5 September, with the fourth and final Test scheduled for Baltimore in the United States on Saturday, 12 September.
