President Prabowo Subianto lauds foreign investors and partners who trust Indonesia and are willing to explore the potential of untapped regions, calling them "brothers" of the Indonesian nation.

"Those who trust Indonesia, who are willing to work with us in new areas, we will treat them as brothers," Prabowo said while inaugurating downstreaming projects at the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) in Central Halmahera, North Maluku, on Thursday.

The president said Indonesia welcomes all partners seeking to collaborate and support the country's development, adding that they will be treated as brothers.

"It is a matter of dignity for the Indonesian nation to protect our partners. We will treat our partners as brothers," he stressed.

Prabowo expressed his gratitude to domestic and foreign partners who have trusted the Indonesian government to help build prosperity and improve the well-being of the people. He also reiterated the government's commitment to respecting and protecting all investments in Indonesia.

On Thursday, the president officially launched 11 downstreaming projects and Indonesia's first export shipment of electric vehicle (EV) batteries, representing a total investment of US$10.2 billion.

The 11 projects include the commercialization of four industrial projects and the development of seven new industrial projects within the IWIP complex in Central Halmahera.

Citing a report from Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani, the president said investments in the IWIP complex have reached US$20 billion, with future projects expected to bring an additional US$7 billion in investment.

The development has also created job opportunities for more than 100,000 people, he added.

President Prabowo expressed hope that friendship with various investment partners would continue to grow positively, thereby strengthening bilateral relations and improving the well-being of Indonesians.

"I thank all our partners for the trust they have placed in us. I hope our partnership and friendship will help strengthen the bond between our two countries and bring benefits to our peoples," he said.
