Sarah Moliski’s Life Inspiration Of Shorts Microdrama ‘Love In The Hamptons’

EXCLUSIVE: Vertical streamer Shorts has teamed with Full Moon Artists (FMA) Productions on a microdrama titled Love in the Hamptons.

This is part of a new FMAxShorts-branded strand, and is set to go into principal photography at the end of the month in East Hampton, New York.

The vertical series comes from FMA’s Sarah Moliski and Rebecca Stoughton, with Marc Cotter and Bilella from Water Street Films (Rival Hearts) the writers.

The romantic drama is inspired by Moliski’s roots and “serves as a love letter to the East End, celebrating both the timeless glamour of the world-famous town and the close-knit local community that has defined it for generations.”

“It’s deeply meaningful to create a series inspired by my life, my friends, and the community that raised me,” said Moliski. “There’s so much more to the Hamptons than the way it’s sometimes portrayed in our media, and this is the first of its kind to tell that story from the inside, bringing a fresh perspective to a place that feels both nostalgic and new, with, of course, a fun microdrama flavor. It’s a love letter in the truest of senses, and I’m incredibly proud, as a local, to champion this story.”

The show is first from FMA Productions, which we revealed was formed this year when horror producer Charles Band teamed with microdrama stars Moliski, Stoughton, Felix Merback and Eric Guilmette, who are now producing Love in the Hamptons. Cast announcements will follow come.

The producers claim the series is the first vertical drama ever filmed on location in the Hamptons.

A.J. Letterel, the development chief at Shorts, said: “Love in the Hamptons is a bet on place and time. The entire series is shot in a world that audiences worldwide have come to adore, and for generationally good reasons. It’s a bet on a story that lives on after the last episode.

“Sarah Moliski and FMA brought the vision and the access to this stunning community, and it’s partnerships like this allow Shorts to continue holding the standard for live-action vertical storytelling.”

For FMA, this marks a first show with Shorts following a pair of Reelshort microdramas, Dungeons of Ecstasy and Models vs. Werewolves. “With this team and this script, I have no doubt that we’re going to deliver something truly special,” said Band.

Moliski has built a reputation as an arch villain actress in the vertical space and among those driving the microdrama industry in L.A.. She has also become the one of the medium’s most sought-after casting producers, assembling talent for vertical series. She also serves as a consultant for major vertical drama apps, advising on casting, talent development and content strategy.

Stoughton is another pioneer of the American microdrama drama, having appeared in more than 40 vertical soap operas and dramas.

Band, a preeminent classic Hollywood horror producer and distributor, has become a player in the microdrama space this year. He also operates a streaming channel, Full Moon Features, which offers access to his huge catalog of horror pics.
