Gov't to boost tax compliance to hit 2027 revenue target: Minister

Translate

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the government will strengthen tax compliance and expand the tax base to achieve a state revenue target of Rp3,426 trillion in the 2027 State Budget Draft (RAPBN).

"State revenue in the 2027 RAPBN is projected to grow solidly to reach Rp3,426.0 trillion, or up 6.8 percent from the 2026 outlook, supported by stronger tax compliance and an expanded revenue base," Sadewa said on Thursday (August 27).

He made the statement at a working meeting of the Budget Committee (Banggar) of the House of Representatives (DPR).

He said increasing state revenue is part of the government's strategy to keep the 2027 RAPBN healthy, credible, and sustainable.

On the spending side, the government plans to allocate Rp4,097.2 trillion in state expenditure in 2027, an increase of 3.9 percent. The allocation comprises Rp3,362.2 trillion in Central Government Expenditure and Rp735.0 trillion in Transfers to Regions.

State spending will be directed toward supporting eight clusters under the National Priority Work Program (PKPN), food sovereignty; energy and water self-reliance; education; health; downstreaming and industrialization; infrastructure; strengthening the people's economy; and poverty reduction.

Sadewa stressed that the government will maintain the quality and efficiency of spending as part of its efforts to increase state revenue.

"The 2027 RAPBN will continue to be kept healthy, credible, and sustainable through increasing state revenue, improving the quality and efficiency of spending, and pursuing innovative and prudent budget financing," he said.

The government is targeting economic growth of 6 percent in 2027, while keeping inflation within a range of 2.5 percent.

Discussions on the 2027 RAPBN will continue through four working committees (Panja) under the DPR's Banggar.

The four working committees will address the basic assumptions underlying fiscal policy, revenue, deficits, and financing; the Government Work Plan (RKP) and budget priorities; central government spending policy; and regional transfer policy, all in relation to the 2027 RAPBN.
